Online Workshop Description: 

Getting Started: The First Step Toward Online Teaching is for those faculty who are just beginning their online teaching journey or who have very little experience with online teaching.  This workshop introduces potential faculty and/or administrators to online education fundamentals. You will not only discuss the concepts but use the technologies to gain practical "hands-on" experience.  

If you plan to take  the Sloan-C Certificate program, this workshop will help you meet the prerequisite requirements for entry into that program.
 

Schedule: 
Workshop Opens - August 25th. Please introduce yourself and begin reviewing materials
Workshop Orientation - Monday, August 30th at 2pm EST
Workshop Officially Closes - September 10th. All workshop materials will be available through August 25, 2011

Presenter/Panelist Biographies
Biographies of Presenters/Panelists: 

As the Co-Director and Associate Director of Faculty Training and Development at Colorado Community Colleges Online (CCCO), Sharon Taylor was responsible for assessing needs, identifying trends, developing training courses, and training faculty to bridge their knowledge and skills gaps. She also serves as an adjunct faculty at three universities: Colorado Community Colleges Online, Capella University, and Franklin University. Taylor has been teaching online business classes since spring of 2003. Along with mentoring/coaching faculty and designing and developing several courses, she is a Gold Medal Faculty and Best Practice Teaching award recipient. In addition to being employed as an academician, she is the sole proprietor of S. A. Taylor Publishing and i-Design-4-e-Learning, which provides consulting services, instructional supplements, instructional designs, and instructional interventions for the higher-education domain.
